The red compost worm (Eisenia andrei) is often mistaken for (Eisenia fetida). A redworm may be used for fishing almost any fish. This is a very productive and universal bait. It is amazingly tenacious, its yellow blood attracts fish like a magnet. Another fact that speaks for the redworm’s universality is that it is equally favored by completely different fish, from small ruffe up to large catfish. A redworm may be used alone or in combination with other bait. Redworms are harvested in their typical habitat: in rotting dung heaps, in the earth near animal farms, in greenhouses. Redworms prepared for fishing are kept in containers with earth.
